What do you think of the Moroccan man who pee's on the side of the road?

I see this quite often. It seems some men can't find a toilet so they stop wherever they are, turn their back to the street and pee right there.
This is so offensive and disgusting.
Why don't these men have any shame? Would they think it okay for a woman to squat on the side of the road and pee? Where is the water they should clean with? Do they pray after that?

I don't want to get close enough but I have this desire to walk up behind them and push them into their own stream! This is one of the most disrespectful, shameful acts I see on the street on a regular basis.

No, I wouldn't do it. Fact is I CAN do it. What is to prevent me? Let me tell you, modesty! It is part of Islam brother.

And no, I am not 'pissed off' about this. I find it disrespectful and a very dirty habit for a Muslim. You should realize this.

I get so angry when I see this. I see it all the time in Rabat too. I once saw a man in a wheel chair just pull it out, lean over and pee right there in full sight of everyone walking by. I have also seen women tell young children to pull down their pants and poop against the wall in the along the main street in Rabat. In the summer the area where the taxis line up smells so horrible, you cannot possibly stand to walk by it. And, many times I see parents stop their children right on the sidewalk, open their pants and have them pee right there.

I know you are not bashing Moroccans, by the way. I have seen it firsthand so many times and everytime I get angry. My husband, a Moroccan, is embarassed by these people and their ignorance. I know it's a different culture but... some things are not acceptable, I don't care WHERE you live.

wow. you are really pissed off by this...(pun intended) how often do you see this happening that it upseats you so much? the fact of the matter is: NO, they do not have any shame they just have to pee. If they feel comfortable doing it on the side of the road, then that is their call - you would do it too if you could.

Urinating is a natural bodily function that all mamals do! Why is that offensive or shameful? do you turn away when dogs pee on building, fences or bushes?

LOL, YES GROSS --they also do this in Europe a lot. Seems in America they generally do it in the snow or in an alley way. SOME things here ARE better!

I mentioned something about it to my husband once and he said women can squat and do it too! I don't know if he was joking with me but he said he saw it done before *confused* then made some joke about a Tunisian movie...maybe I should post this question in the Tunisia section. lol Anyway, I said it is gross and different for a girl since we can't really aim... ;)

I say grab a stick and poke them in the back. Or say "PTOU" really loudly!!!

EDIT: OMG! I just read what Terry said and I have seen Moroccan kids poop like that in Lyon, France right in the middle of the square next to some monument. I was disgusted and embarrassed. Seriously, what a bad image of your culture, your religion, and yourself you are showing to the whole world when you do something like that. Esp. that even in France where one could say there are not public restrooms like in the US--there are plenty of places one could go, they have ones you pay for on the corner of many streets (somebody would be happy to give the money for it) or there are BUSHES --at least screen yourself! Sheesh!

I have to agree with you on this. Just a couple days ago as I was looking out my window I saw two little girls lift there dresses and pee on the grass by the mosque next door without a thought of who could see them. I saw a man on the side of the train tracks whip it out and pee facing the train once, wow, thought I got whiplash turning my head away from that, honestly! lol

It happens a LOT in Morocco and is just a 'thing' that is something that is to be put up with. I have never seen any man's thing but I have seen a kid peeing in a bottle and then throwing it into a deserted lot and other things that are spectacularly gross to us from 1st world countries.

Remember Morocco is still a 3rd world country and just like the begging on the street and other things (dirty streets, etc...) it is something unfortunately we have to put up with.

You can always shout SHOOMA (shame one you) at the guy to let him know of your displeasure.

Why are you pointing this out to only Moroccan men. I have seen all nationalities do it at one time or the other.
In fact my ex used to do it if he was driving and had go and there was no restroom near. I used to tell him that he was going to pee on his foot.
I don't condone public peeing at all, but to just rip on Moroccans is not right.
