So, what is the actual punishment for a non-Muslim entering a Mosque in Morocco?

This doesn't affect me because I am Muslim but was wondering. And yes, I know they can go into the one in Casa.

hmmm not sure about the entrance thing...good subject though.
I think it is sad, they don't know. I think there should be hours or something for them to get to see some of them...maybe that would be best...my dad visited a masjid in Egypt and he was really impressed, if they didn't allow it he might never have gotten the opportunity, he said it was very diff. from viewing it on TV and he thought it was cool that they had to take their shoes off.

You will be escorted (if need be forceably) out of the mosque. And as for the one in Casablanca NO you CANNOT go into the inner chamber where people go to pray. I tried and got stopped by a very large muslim guard... if I would have taken my shoes off... hmmm....

A harsh scolding by those inside? Hmm, I really don't know. A woman came into the mosque once and the ladies kind of flipped on her. I felt bad for her. She didn't know any better but no one seemed to give her that benefit.

Isn't it just the tourist entrance they can go into in the Hassan II ? They can go into Tin Mal mosque too :(( so sad.

The thing is that those ppl are dirty having never made ghusl. I don't know, that is a hard one for me. Should we make them bath first? lol

hehe, edit again. I think what if in American they had not let me in the mosque before I was Muslim? Thank God they did is how I feel.

cause i'm from morocco, there is no real punishment, just that they would not let u enter n call security if they see u being so bossy and wanting to enter.

.)

My husband tells me that you are alowed to go in if you wear traditional Moroccan clothes. Like jdillaba and fullar for the woman. In the Hassan II he says you can go in if no one is praying. Probly because of all the tourists that go there. I was only refused entrance once, and that was because I was wearing pants and a jacket. And that was not at Hassan II.

i don't think there should be a punishment to anybody...........at least in my country Egypt as you said :D

i love you Fez soooooooo much , mmmmuuuuaaaaahh :D

This is an interesting question. I believe it is only in KSA and Morocco where this is not allowed!

Why would anyone be punished for going into a house of worship.
I havent heard that there was a punishment, but a non muslim must observe islamic etiquette when in a mosque, such as removing shoes before entering the prayer area, and appropriate attire..
If that is so, thats very sad that a non muslim wouldnt be allowed to enter and witness how muslims worship, that would be the biggest form of dawah(teaching islam) to others as long as they respect islamic etiqutte while inside.

I don't know about the law in Morrocco but religiously speaking there are no prohibitions that I know of preventing a non Muslim from entering a Mosque (besides the Mosque in Mecca) as long as he/she follows the rules... i.e. Dress (take off shoes or cover them, women covering up except face and hands, men dressed modestly) and conduct codes (Not raising the voice, acting decent etc...)

Abulition or Wodho' is not a pre-requirment to enter a Mosque not even for Moslems.

Most religious decrees are in accordance with the mentioned oppinion you can see one in detail in the following link (in Arabic) published in a kuwaity magazine called "Alwa3y Al Islamy issued by the Kuwaity ministry of Religious Affairs.

It is also a known fact that the Prophet (PBUH) received a delegation of Christians from Najran in his mosque, and when it was time for them to pray their prayers they asked permission from the Prophet and he allowed them to pray in the Mosque facing east (It was a Hadith Narrated by Ibn Hesham in Tahthib Sirat Ibn Ishaq)

Another well known story is when Thomama ibn Athal (A mushrik) - was taken prisoner during one of the battles of early Islam. He was tied to a post in the mosque where he watched Moslems pray and listened to the prophet preache. When he was released later he went to Aqiq valley where he washed and then returned to the Mosque and declared his Islam.

And I'm just curious... how does a non Moslem looks like to be so easily identifiable... couldn't he just sneak in pretending he is Moslem... I had an Egyptian Christian (coptic) friend who used to come with us during the prayers of Eid... and just do as we do. I think it was a nice gesture... specially that he meant no harm... he was just trying to share our celebrations... But that was back in Canada.

i do not know, but in AMARILLO, TX, we have girls coming to the Mosque, that are nun Muslims all the time,
