I have lived in Morocco for 6 years and want to start selling Moroccan objects internationaly. Where to start?

I have lived and worked now for 6 years in Morocco, I am originaly from London.I would love to start a buisness that sells Moroccan products, any advice or ideas very welcome.

Are you looking to wholesale or sell like a store?

If you are looking at wholesale or exporting a large number of items at once you need to get an import/export license in Morocco.

Use E-bay

buy em wholesale and open a specialist gift shop maybe? Or if youre good at html coding sell from your own website?

legally or illegally?

rent a server to host your website & buy a shopping cart that comes with paypal ittergration or somthing along those lines. Add your objects and start mailing.....

can give you a longer version if required!

Listen to Sarah T....I have a cousin-in-law (lol) that has this business ---he is actually in Agadir too.

I agree with The Grim Reaper set up an e-bay shop not sure how you do this though. Let me know when you do, i went to Marrackech in februrary and couldn't fit everything i wanted to buy into my suitcase.

I would recommend ebid - No fees for listing items on ebid Join for free today聽 - also if you upgrade to platinum you can open an eBid store for free (unlike eBay!)

As its free to start you have nothing to lose -

Zero Listing Fee ~ Registration is FREE.~ Joining eBid is completely free

eBid also have their own loyalty system called buddy points - You can earn points during your trading career that can be built up and聽used throughout the site.<BR>You can use your Buddy Points to bid on our Buddy Auctions. These can be seen on the frontpage and also in the Buddy Points section of My eBid. Bid on items like Plasma TVs and MP3 Players

Moroccan goods are very beautiful as I've seen in Agadir and Marrakech - I think they would do very well over here in London and maybe Camden too.
Maybe you should think about making a website and taking photos of all of your goods - you can then work on publicising your goods.
First of all, you should test out whether your business would be successful. Do a little survey or show friends and family examples of furniture or ornaments - have an idea of who they would appeal to so you can make the website to fit their tastes.
You can find popular Moroccan restaurants in London too - like Mamounia, Moroccan Tagine etc..and you can perhaps make leaflets for them to give out, put in the window or a website adress. The link to the Moroccan restaurants = http://www.squaremeal.co.uk/restaurants/...

Good Luck
& Take Care
