Mexico, Visas & Tourist Cards?

Ok i've seen simular questions but i know it depends on where a person is from. I'm from United Kingdom and will be travelling to Mexico for one week, and will be staying with my friends family over there. I've read all i need is a valid passport and tourist card being a british citizen but i need to be 100% sure before i go ahead with the flight. Do i need a visa, or will this tourist card be enough? Keeping in mind, this is not a direct flight and i have to stop off at Houston, Texas to get onto another plane.

For MEXICO (I don't knwo for Houston) and if you are a British citizen in possesion of a British passport, if not better call the Mexican embassy, because you may need a visa.

You need a valid passport, for at least 6 months beyond your stay.
You need a tourist card, which is given to you by the airline, it mus be filled before landing in Mexico, as the Customs Declaration Card. When going trough immigration you may be asked where are you going to stay, for how long, if you have enough money, etc., but maybe not, it all depends on your good luck. Your passport and tourist card are going to be stamped, and the immigration officer would write for how long are you admitted (usually 90 days), and that's it! You have to return the tourist card portion given to you by the immigration officer and surrender it when leaving the country; if you loss it you will have to pay about 50 dollars.

If you are a citizen of Andorra, ... Germany, Great Britain, Greece, ... United States of America, Uruguay or Venezuela, you don鈥檛 need a visa to enter Mexico, although you must present a valid passport and fill out an immigration form for tourists and business trips, which can be obtained in travel agencies, airlines or at the point where you enter Mexico.

I don't know if that page explicitly says so, but it should not matter where you are flying from.
