How do I find out if my mom owns property in Mexico? |
Sadly, her memory is failing and I would like to know if she still owns land in Michoacan... If so, we would like to sell it while we still can. Any tips on this would be welcome... I suppose it is too much to hope that any of this info would be available on the web? The office that is in charge of property data bases is called "Registro Publico de la Propiedad" and there is one in any major city such as Morelia, in a small town the "presidencia municipal" would be the place to ask. I really doubt there's information on the web, sorry. If you have any documents of ownership they would be very useful, the official ownership document is called "escritura" and is registered in a "notaria" where the original is kept forever, you may have a copy, it has the address, meters, name of the owner, number of registration and so on. Get in touch with a real estate lawyer, or get a private investigator. That's the only ideas I have... Check with the City Hall there give me the adress and all of the papers you may have and i can check for you... i call you A realtor should be able to look it up and see the owner |
