Whats their to do in Montreal????

I have akways heard great things about Montreal and that it is one of the worlds great cities. What however are the major sites, attractions and experiences that one can find in Montreal???

Nothing much more than other cities.Montreal clubs close early if compare to Paris,Barcelona. The only things you can do is in summer with the Grand prix. The grand prix is the only things unique in north America until another city in north America care to get a grand prix franchise.Since grand prix exist no wealthy american cities were interested to get one,go figure why.

There is growing criminality and drug trafficking downtown Montreal and it is less secure walking there too late.I recommend go to "La ronde" or Montreal Casino at st-Helene island.

A walk down Rue St. Catherine is always fun...Tons of stores, malls, restaurants, street vendors (usually), and strip clubs (if you're into that).
The old Forum is a lot of fun. I haven't been there in awhile, but last time I was there they had a huge arcade, bowling alley, rock climbing, and movie theaters in there.
If you go in the summer you can check out LaRonde, it's a lot of fun with some great rides.
The Casino is also very nice and can be split up with LaRonde with one half the day there and the other half at the casino.
Depending on when you go you can check out Just For Laughs (world's biggest comedy festival), or their annual food festival.
Old Montreal is a lot of fun....Nice restaurants and little shops right by the water.
You can check out Olympic Stadium and the tower they have over it.
The Biodome and Botanical Gardens are both always nice to visit.
Also, if you like ribs, you have to stop by the Bar-B-Barn. They have the best ribs anywhere.

There's also a ton more stuff to do there, that's really just the tip of the iceberg.

See for yourself!

I live in Montreal so I will tell you things to see and do ok here goes!
Old Montreal (Vieux-Montreal)
Stroll, bicycle or take a horse-drawn carriage through the narrow cobblestone streets of Montreal's famous Parisian-style historic district, filled with cultural landmarks, museums, boutiques, sidewalk cafes and restaurants.
Museum of Archaeology and History (Pointe-a-Calliere Museum)Discover the history of Montreal in an unusual way at this fascinating museum located on the actual site of the original colony in 1642. Following a multimedia presentation, you take a self-guided tour through the underground crypt where artifacts unearthed in archaeological digs are on display in their original locations.
(Mont (Mount) Royal) Referred to as "the mountain" by locals, this 764-foot mountain provides excellent view of the city and is a popular recreation spot.
(Underground City)Montreal's answer to the region's harsh winters, Underground City refers to the extensive web of train stations, restaurants, department stores and hotels all connected underground.
Traditionally the centre of Montreal's anglophone bar and restaurant scene, Crescent Street also attracts the majority of tourists looking for a night out. The best-known stretchbegins at Sherbrooke Street, where you will find the Musee des Beaux-Arts , and runs south to the Bell Centre . Along this strip you will find everything from haute French cuisine at Les Halles to Russian fusion at Troika . Nightlife ranges from...Located in the southern downtown area of Montreal, this new home for the Canadiens hockey club is a state-of-the-art facility that seats more than 21,000.... Originally known as the Molson Centre, it is used not only for sports events but also for rock and pop concerts, various exhibitions and events. Visitors can tour its multi-functional amphitheater and Hall of Fame, enjoy a drink in the Jacques Beauchamp Lounge and even get a chance to see the Canadians' dressing room....

Hope this Helps :-) This city has alot tof thing's to do after all Montreal is the 2nd largest city in Canada we fall just under Toronto but non the less Toronto sucks. Us Canadians call Tornoto the dead city of Canada ( No lie) your comming to Canada you need to be in Montreal or Vancouver Calgary is a nice place too.

Agree with Jenny, you HAVE to check out Old Montreal/Old Port. Also check out Mont Royal, has great views of the city if you like to take pictures. For nightlife, Crescent or St. Laurent streets.
