How long does it take to get a passport?

If you are American, the passport service is now saying it takes 6 to 8 weeks. if you pay the fee to hae it expedited and for express mail, it takes 2 to 3 weeks. See site below.

I paid the extra to have it expedited and it took 2 weeks.

6-8 wks thru the usual route but you can pay extra and get it in about two weeks..

My daughter just got hers in 4 1/2 weeks. It was a renewal but we had to do the whole process from the start since she is a minor. We did not expedite it.

Are you in Monterrey getting an American passport or a Mexican passport? Or - are you in the US trying to get a passport to travel to Monterrey?
