Have you ever heard of Monterrey, the city in Mexico? What do you think about it?

I have a colleague who just moved from German and she said we live in a kind of ranch and well that's her point of view but ....what do you think?

Sorry, Germany

Monterrey is beautiful in the right places. I loved looking out at the Chipinque Mountains and Saddleback.
I was part of the hot air balloons from Houston that went there as part of the 400th anniversary of it being a city. It was so much fun, we were invited back the next year.
A few people on our crew were from Monterrey including a TV personality that was on the air there before moving to Houston. People recognized her and we were often stopped by people on the street.
Monterrey reminded me of Houston in the early 70's when I was a small kid. Downtown was a bit dirty and gritty but very alive. Suburbs were like those in Houston today.
Of course, we weren't shown the extreme poverty in the shanty towns outside of Monterrey.
Ate dinner at a house of an Spanish professor on the side of a mountain. The home was beautiful and overlooked Monterrey with a million dollar view.
Everyone we met was very friendly.
A few customs are different there than in the US but Monterrey is visitor friendly and a nice city.

I was born in Monterrey and spent almost ever summer there, it's a wonderful place, the touristic side of it is just beautiful.
Dallas is to the USA what Monterrey is for Mexico.

Its a very nice place, i been there but it also matter what place you at its like everywhere theres nice places and not so nice, i been to very nice ranchs in monterrey

It's a nice little city and it's only a little over 100 miles from the border, so it's easy to get to and on good roads.

Monterrey is NOT a ranch, sure the outer parts of it are a little ranch style, but Monterrey is a city, not a ranch
I believe it's the second largest city in Mexico, not sure about that
I love it there, my family from my mom's side are from there, & I go every year for vacation, it's great

Monterrey is very modern and beautiful...its the L.a of mexcio not Dallas...get ur stuff right! Theirs alot to do their! Alot of money their..also!

Well, do you live in a rancho? Or do you live inside of grand ole' Monterrey? I live in Santa Catarina - and I wouldn't say that it was a ranch, but if you live in, say, Garcia - well - you live in a ranch... but then, I've never been to Germany, I don't know how big their cities are - but I don't recall seeing any of them on the top ten largest cities list... and Monterrey is one of the largest in Mexico.

!Viva, Monterrey!
