Shared accomodation for a foreigner in Mexico city?

Hi,

I will be travelling to Mexico city in 1 weeks time and hoping to live there for at least 6 months or more as i would like to gain employment as an English teacher. I was hoping to find cheap shared accomodation. If anyone has any information on an easy way to do that i would be greatfull :)

DO you know you will need a work visa to work in Mexico? You cannot get a work visa without first finding an employer who will write a letter staing he is hiring you for a job he cannot find a Mexican national for...he must sponsor your work visa. This can be ...and usually is...a time consuming and difficult process. You must have your original college degree, unopened certified transcripts, proof of accreditation of your university, documentaion of licensure as an English teacher..in other words, you can't just move here and teach English because you can speak English. You may already be aware of this and ready for it, but if not, you need to know. I have seen people come here totally ignorant of these things and nearly starve for almost a year looking for a job and waiting for a work permit. it would be better( if you are a certified ESL teacher) if you could get a contract with an established English school before coming to Mexico. you also need to know, pay is very low. There is no shortage of college educated Mexicans who can speak English...who are working as waiters. You my be able to pick up a few private students and do tutoring, but it would not be enough to live on...and if you work while here on a tourist visa and get caught, you are subect to deportaion. Be Prepared!

there are some zones in downtown some of there are chip
but sometime when they see foreigner people they increase costs
it麓ll be no be a problem just contact me ok麓?

If you have all your papers arranged to work in Mexico and if you are fluent in spanish. I am sure It will be easy.
To live in Mexico City you will need car for sure.. the public transportation sucks.
And I recommend you to find the job before you look for your apartment. Otherwise It could be a nightmare, if you live in the south and you have to go to work at the north or viceversa.
