Ugly Betty...why does her dad call her "miha"? What does this mean? Is it spanish or mexican? are they the...

same langugae?? mexican and spanish

First lets clarify one thing for lots of people, there is no such thing as Mexican language. In Mexico the official language is Spanish. With that said the "mija" comes from two words, "mia"(my) and "hija" (daughter). to utilize this words in short version a lot of people will say "mija" instead of "mi hija". mija is well used in Mexico and it is a sweet way to call ones daughter; just like most people will call their daughters "sweetheart" in the U.S.

it's mija and it mexican

Some Spanish speaking people call their daughter (which in Spanish is hija) mija. This means "my little girl". Please note that there is no such a language as Mexican. Mexicans speak Spanish.

Mexicans speak Spanish just like Americans speak English. Accents happen...

its mexican, and it means my little girl.

mija is short for mi hija...it means my daughter or my little girl

Mi hija, daughter or little girl in Spanish. It is the official language of Mexico but there is slang and idiomatic expressions as there are in any language. The language of the northern states is much abbreviated in conversation.

Mija is an abbreviation to the word Hija which means daughter. It kinda means my little girl.

Jajajajajaja yes, its the same!!! The mexican people we speak Spanish, because if you open your history book麓s, you麓ll see in 1519 Hernan Cortes they came to M茅xico, and for that reason all Latin America we speak in spanish, with exception of Brasil.

"miha" as you put it, is "mi hija". The "h" is silent, so the "i" sound in "mi" and "i" sound in "hija" run together. "Mi" is "my" and "hija" is "daughter". That's what I call my little girls.

IT MEANS DAUGHTER, AND IN MEXICO THEY SPEAK SPANISH NOT MEXICAN, MEXICAN IS THE CITIZEN, AND SPANISH IS THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

Mija is a term used by mexican people (people who are from Mexico) to refer to his/her daughter. Mexican is not a language, this is the way people who come from Mexico are called, just like an american who is from America. Spanish is the main language in Mexico.
