What is the best way to travel from Monterrey to Mexico City?

I'm flying into Monterrey, Mexico and would like to spend a few days in Mexico City. Is it possible to drive/fly or take a bus to Mexico City? I have five days in Mexico.

If you want to spend 12 hours in a bus go ahead otherwise grab a plane and in 1 hour you'll be in M茅xico City!!

There is a main highway to drive and there is good bus service as well. But it is not a close distance.

Juanito is correct...the best way would be to fly...very frequent service between these two large business centers.

In addition, you also have regular service of aeromexico and mexicana.

Since you are coming from the US, check with the travel websites and then the specific airlines. It may be worth your while to do a "triangle" fare: US City to Monterrey to Mexico City to US City, if you don't have to return to Monterrey. It may be cheaper than 2 separate round-trips around Monterrey...and would include frequent flyer miles if that matters to you.
