Cost of living Mexico City vs. USA? |
How much is an American dollar worth in Mexico City? If I had a job paying 3 USD an hour full time or so, would I be able to live comfortably in Mexico City, just bearly get by, or none of the above? You would be paid in Pesos, not dollars. And the exchange rate is the same throughout Mexico, about 10.5 Pesos to the dollar. So you would be paid about 31 Pesos an hour. That is a pittance in Mexico City. It is VERY expensive. About the same as New York City or San Francisco. That would be a starvation wage there. I don't know for sure, but in Mexico City, I bet you'd barely get by. Hope you get some answers from ppl who've actually lived there recently. I lived in Mexico City for about a year and a half. I will give you further info just email me. |
