Is there a direct bus from panama city to mexico city?

i know about tikabus but its not direct they take 1 day break for you to sleep in their hotel,,i need to get back fast but airplanes are too expensive!

Do not hitchick in Central America, not only it is not fun, but it is extremely dangerous. Check out King transport, I know they travel from Panama up to El Salvador, and they should follow to Mexico. Keep around $40 in $1 bill to bribe the corrupt cops in Mexico, $5 each time they come to harass you, otherwise you wont make it. Believe me, I have lots of experience travelling in Central America (in fact, I am logged in San Salvador as of now).

There are several. They run from all the Central American Capitals, up the Pan American Highway.

However, from El Salvador, North, the ride becomes somewhat risky, due to the feral gang attacks, spawned by the American "3 strikes and Out!" ruling.

Other than Tica Bus no other bus line that I know of operates through all the countries.It is mix of local bus companies and an exhausting trip. It's news to me that the Ticabus now takes a break. I have hitchhiked on the PA highway before. Not fun but it is another option.
