How far is Mexico City from Cuernavaca & best way to get there via SAFE/PUBLIC transportation? |
I need to go to Cuernavaca Mexico on a last minute's notice. I'm gonna fly into Mexico City and need to find out the best way to get to Cuernavaca, once there. It is important that transportation is safe, clean and not too expensive. If you know any info, please let me know. There are buses at the airport and at the station on the south side of town. It took like 1.5 hours maybe. The buses are pretty cheap, 1 way was like 20 dollars. But you can hop on a bus at the airport. I've always traveled to Cuernavaca by car. Most of the trip is wasted in Mexico City traffic. It's best that you get the heck out of the city as soon as possible (Friday afternoons are the worst since a lot of people go to that city on the weekend). Best way: get a bus directly from the airport. They will go straight to a bus station in Cuernavaca called "Casino de la Selva" which for me is great, but make sure you are going to that area... if not, try one to "Cuernavaca Centro (downtown)" The best way to go is by bus. The UNO or the ADO line are the best two. I have put a web site below where you can get the best routing, times and fares. I have traveled the entire country in comfort on these lines. First class or deluxe bus. Mexican buses are comfortable and convenient. They're middle class transportation, unlike in the US, so no weirdos at all. As for safety- in the US buses are much safer than cars and its probably the same in Mexico, especially if you avoid the old, beat-up 2nd class buses which seem to have most of the accidents. You've already got all of the info you need...... the trip does take about 1.5 hours if you don't get stuck in the traffic, the most convenient (and fastest) way to do it is catch a bus at the airport and not worry about transportation within the city, ETN is highly recommendable and the bus/pullman service in Mexico is very reliable and safe in general. We don't get that many accidents, as someone else said. The service is punctual, fast, comfortable and cheap. This is your best option. Hope you have a great time. |
