No you dont need any permission as long as you have your greencard with you.

If you do not leave the border areas, that the Mexican call La Frontera, you only need a permanent resident card, issued by the United States or Canada, your drivers license, issued by an government agency within the same country as your permanent resident card was issued, registration for the vehicle, and Mexican trip insurance. The insurance is not required in Mexico, but if you get into an accident without it, you will probably spend time in jail.
If you are traveling further south, outside of La Frontera, then you will need all of the above, and you will have to stop at the office of Migraci贸n at the Mexican border.
There they will issue a temporary import certificate, for your vehicle, and a tourist visa for you and anyone traveling with you.
