Why do people do fireworsks on july 4.?

to 'Celebrate' our independence!!

'By the time of the American Revolution, fireworks had long played a part in celebrating important events. It was natural that not only John Adams, but also many of his countrymen, should think of fireworks when Independence was declared. The very first celebration of Independence Day was in 1777, six years before Americans knew whether the new nation would even survive the war, and fireworks were a part of the revels.'

Because it reminds us of "bombs bursting in air" from the Star Spangled Banner

"and the rockets' red blare, the bombs bursting in air...."

b/c they can!

Symbolism and ceremony. Its to commemorate the war of independance from England.

To celebrate the Declaration of Independence from Britain

It's symbolic of the war we had with England to gain our freedom over 200 years ago. Violence, war, bombs, all that good stuff.

Because fireworks on Christmas just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Hello people .... this is a MEXICO question area. There is no 4th of July celebration in Mexico that I know of - maybe a local one in Merida?
