Weather in Mazatlan or Tepic?

I will be vacationing in either of these two cities from mid-December through mid-January. What will the weather be like or what types of clothing should I be sure not to forget?

Tepic may be a bit cooler as it is higher, but Mazatlan should be mid 70's to low 80's day time, and low 70's to mid 60's at night.

Mazatlan will be HOT. Tepic can be a little cooler because its higher from sea level but I will not be cold. Mid december, bring a sweater.
