What are some of the best places to see while down in mazatlan, mexico? How long will you be there? Depending on time, I would say, tour El Centro (including the theatre and cathedral and include a meal on Plazuela Machado), spend a day on Stone Island(not the tour, that is a waste of money, take the taxi nd go to Victor's Resturant), hike to the lighthouse, go to Copala and/or El Quelite....eat some shrimp!!! HEY I GO THERE EVERY YEAR. GO TO THE BEACHES AND GET A TAXI AND TELL HIM TO TAKE U TO EL MERCADO. ITS BEAUTIFUL U CAN BUY SUVINIORS AND LOTS OF KOOL THINGS U WILL NEVER FIND ANYWHERE ELSE. ITS BEAUTIFUL THERE! SINALOA, MEXICO! DO NOT DO THE STONE ISLAND TOUR. IT IS DISGUSTING, GROSS, I GOT SICK THERE FOR 2 DAYS AFTER. YOU WILL BE SO DISAPPOINTED. I second Sans' recommendations, all of them. Also, check out Playa Bruja and spend a Sunday evening checking the scene (cliff divers, vendors, family outings) on the malec贸n's southern section, below Ice Box Hill. Go have dinner at Sr. Frogs. Amazing place and good food--took a boat trip that was fun and saw lots of big fish and also lots of sea creatures on rocks. Cabbie took me to the old town to shop for boots, found some great buys--the rest is bla and it smells awful after the sun goes down. If you go on the beach it is covered with hawkers--motels are roped off beach is free game. Joe's Oyster Bar and Bora Bora are can't miss places. Stone Island is cool, all the tours there are kind of worthless. El centro is good for shopping, drive a hard bargin. Playa Bruja is a great beach, but be real careful out there, my wife got stung by a huge man of war jellyfish there. I agree with 2341 DO NOT GO TO STONE ISLAND. It is really bad just went in march.... Joe's oyster bar is awesome bora bora is the locals club do not waste your money. |
