When travelling from Canada does anyone know........?

If you are travelling from Canada to Mexico and you don,t have a passport do they do any kind of background check at the airport? I was just wondering.

Before 9/11, you could enter Mexico with a valid birth certificate and not have a passport.

You will get a tourist visa from either the travel agent, or while you are onboard your flight when you are coming close to Mexico, and you will have to fill out the form.

All immigrations in the airports in Mexico have two sections, one for people with passport and one for people who only have a birth certificate.

Usually, the lines are excessive and you will be in the airport for hours if you only have a birth certificate, as the lines move much quicker with a passport.

After 9/11, if I was you to be on the safe side I would not travel any where in the world without a valid passport and visa if required.

You need to check with the Mexican Consulate, in Canada to see what their requirements are, before you purchase your ticket and waste alot of money only to find out they will not let you into Mexico. (Don't trust the travel agent or the airlines, as they are not the authorized agent of the government of Mexico).

Times are not what they use to be after Bush and 9/11.

they should if they don't,but then you may be refused travel,so I would think it best to have one & be safe.
