Hmm.. first of all.. Mauritius is awesome.. and guess wat I came back today from Mauritius from a vacation.

As for the hotel depending on ur budget u can choose from various options.. I stayed at Indian Resort and it was really really worth the price. My friends stayed at Golden Beach Hotle and they said it was 'not bad'
Better take a package tour.. which will help u cover most of the attraction in Mauritius. We took SeaSide travels and we covered most fo the spots like - ganga talau,black river gorges, curepipe,Waterfalls... then the water sports...liek under water sea walk,parasailing,banan boat ride... and finally the botaincal garden adn ofcourse shopping..

The best way to discover Mauritius is to divide ur holiday in 2 parts.. first 3-4 days as guided tour, and then u can set on ur own to discove the island... and dont miss to laze a day on Catamaran cruise.. u might get chance to swin with dolphin in its natural self.. snokering...

As for the coast.. I personally liked the South east coast.. it is little less commercialised ones..

And dont forget to shop at the local market.. its fun...u get tshirt at dirt cheap price.Rs 100..:o)
