Shameless, set in Manchester?

I love this programme but it is very explicit. Anyone else watch it?.

I used to watch it, but then it got silly, the focus shifted off the Gallaghers and it became too confusing to keep track of all the characters. Desperate Scallies, anyone?

According to someone on Wikipedia the Chatsworth estate is supposed to be in Stretford, though I don't know how you are supposed to be able to pinpoint a fictional place.

Though famous for being filmed on the streets of Gorton in east Manchester, interruptions from the locals got so tiresome they decamped to a purpose-built set. They now film on an industrial estate in Wythenshawe.

So no Salford connection at all that I can see, not that it matters. Denying Salford has anything to do with Manchester is like saying Camden, Kensington and Westminster aren't all part of London.

Yeah Think shameless is wicked !

superb.

Watched every episode and got the DVD's great program depicting a side of life that we do not always see or relate to. Sometimes explicit but so is life!

yer shameless is mint! it's set in stretford in manchester!

Been watching it since it came out & have all the dvds, I love it!

Yeah, I love Frank!

Yep. It's set in Stretford but actually filmed in West Gorton. The Jockey pub is actually a pub called The Aces in W. Gorton

Wanna do drugs?

Talk to Frank

Yeah makes me cringe a bit but good though I think it's actually set in Salford not Manchester.
By the way before anyone starts with stupid comments can I draw everyone's attention to the fact that Salford is a SEPARATE city ie NOT part of Manchester at all!!!

yep, paul abbot who writes shameless is from my home town burnley.
he went to school with my sister.

I love it love it love it, probably because its just like my house when i was growing up........
my family are very similar in lots ov ways..............
and i dont care what ppl think, im proud of each and everyone of us.....:@)
Shameless and life on Mars are fab xxx
