Arriving in Manchester?

I am arriving in at Manchester central bus station..... how long will it take and what bus will I need to catch to get to Old Trafford from here?

The bus station is about 3 minutes walk from Piccadilly Gardens. It's much easier to get the tram to Old trafford. Just get on the altrincham line (every 6 minutes) and it stops outside old trafford cricket ground (opposite old trafford football ground)

go out of the station and head up to piccadilly (about 1/5 mile away).

i am pretty sure that the 53 goes to old trafford but any bus going to sale or altrincham will go past old trafford.

the time depends on when you go - rush hour will take you probably 20/30 mins but if it is to go to a match it takes ages as the traffic backs up all the way from whichever direction you take.

i know that quite often rival supporters actually find it easier to walk - a bit of a trek but it can be no more than 2 miles from the centre.
