Manchester really doesn't do B&Bs. It's not Blackpool and it's not Edinburgh.

Most tourists coming here are young trendy types who prefer staying in the lively city centre. The city is also geared up for business travelers.

There are some small family-run hotels out in the suburbs, but I can't think of a single B&B like what you're probably thinking (net curtains, marmalade and dog hair).

Try tripadvisor.com, you can search by location and price, with all the accommodation ranked by user reviews. There are some budget chain hotels where you should be able to find rooms around 拢40. Happy travels!
