What would your country do for you if you were in serious trouble in another country?

This is from the US. I take it that you're asking, what would the US government do if I got into trouble in another country? I also take it that you're referring to "legal" trouble, as in police matters. The answer is, very, very little. If a case is brought to the attention of US embassy officials, they may pay you a visit in jail and help you find a local lawyer. Typically that is about it. The American government is under no obligation to help Americans who get into legal trouble in other countries. On the other hand, if an American runs into trouble of a personal nature (e.g., you get your wallet and stuff stolen), embassy officials will help you wire money from the US and get a new emergency passport.

No idea. I have never created any problem in another country. But if i am in trouble, i am sure my country will help me in every way they can. But if i am involved in drug offence or criminal offence, i would understand if my country refuse to help me.

Yes, of course they will help me..
especially embassy.. this happens to my bro in US last time.. especially when dealing with loans & banks..
the embassy will help being a reference for the banks..

if in case they can't help me, i know there must be some reason they are not doing it.
