Any experince on losing thing at Airport -MAS?

I flew from Penang to KLIA last Friday by MAS flight, I put my bag in luggage, suddenly when arrived at KLIA I found front pocket of my was was opened and my camera was gone.
I straight away made a report.
Anybody familiar with this situation? Will MAS compensate me? TQ

About MAS compensating, i think you better check with them directly. Keep following-up with them.

This may come as a trivial matter to you but I always lose my luggage tag whenever I fly MAS *rolls eyes*
It's really annoying because accumulated over time I think the luggage tags must've been quite a collection lost over the years of travel, lol=P
And there were other times where my luggage appeared to be tampered with even with a combination lock!

It's not MAS problem. It's the problem of the KLIA staff. Report to the police and they'll handle it. But not sure if you'll get it back.

There are a lot of people complained about such incident. White Teeth is right when she says that its the work of KLIA staff. I usually pack expensive belongings in a box which I later tight wrap it with plastic which you can find at the departure hall with a small fee. As far as compensation goes, its most likely that they won't entertain you as it is hard to prove that it's the work of inside scums. Thieves are everywhere and being a staff to one of the most reputable organization such as MAS doesn't make them any holier. Make sure your bags are properly secured.

I know how you feel. I lost my entire luggage flying MAS from KK-KLIA-KB. I had to spend 2 days on my island holiday without my bag and change of clothing. I could be the MAS system or it could be thieves. Frustrating.

Those scumbags ought to be punished!
Make a police report as soon as possible.

You might want to refer to the 'Mishandled Load' (Mishandled Baggage) section. MAS do not usually compensate claims, but will usually attempt to 'please' their customers ---in other words, your chances are slim, especially if you've already left the airport and had only realized it when you opened your baggage at home (if you had realized this happening in the airport, the first thing you should have done was to inform the Security Department to conduct a search at your presence on your belongings and further actions will be executed by the officers in charge).

Police don't usually get involved in such issues (they'll usually need a full report on the incident from the Investigations Dept. from the airline company on your case, including other facts ---some form of solid evidence is needed to prove your case beyond reasonable doubt).

In the situation from the police reports, they'll leave it for KIV and probably close its case within a few weeks if no court case or summons and further actions taken (again, it makes evidence a crucial issue here).
