Will you migrate out of Malaysia?

Just want to know everyone's opinion. Quite a number of us, particularly chinese and indians, our forefathers migrated to Malaysia in the past in search of greener pastures, so now if you had the chance to live, work and raise a family in another country, would you choose to? if you don't, why? if you do, which country would you go to and why?

I appreciate all your sincere replies, including the one lined ones.. but it will be better if you guys can answer more comprehensively.. by adding rationales to your answer.. don't worry, no one's going to judge you. thanks!

There is no reason to move out off Malaysia, unless you want something that is only possible for Malays, like a certain study or funding.
But in the future Malaysia might become a less friendly place and then maybe you have to move out of danger.
Anything is possible. People who say it isn't are just ignoring reality.
In Europe and the USA anyone living there has equal rights by law. Rasism is against the law. On the other hand, violence and crime are a bigger problem. Also, don't think that life is better there. Most of us Europeans are poor. It's only on tv that you see rich middle class people in Europe. Don't be fooled. We have to struggle all our lifes to pay for the high rent and the extremely high food prices. Most of us do NOT have a car and do NOT own a house. We rent and travel by public transport, which is also incredibly expensive.
At least here in Malaysia you do not have to struggle for food and housing.
Keep all this in mind.

I'm a Malaysian, and I'll always be a Malaysian.

Me to.!!!~

i will sure leave.
but i wont give up my citizenship

I would said if I want to migrate I would choose Canada, Australia, USA.
Since this country had treat Chinese, Indian unequal I might migrate for the sake of my children.

No. But taking a holiday or education if fine.

why should i?

I may but like NoMoney I won't give up my citizenship

i'd like to migrate TO Malaysia

Definitely NO. First you have to ask yourself, why you want to migrate. If it's because of better life, may be USA or UK would be a better place. But, supposed those counties being bombed, at war or something, will you migrate again? Our forefathers stayed here during WW2, during '69 riot. during hard times.

So if this country is ever at war, I'll stay here for good or for bad, if possible fight to defend it. this is what I'd do.

Stay here, second grade citizen, migrate also second grade citizen, but with better benefit, you do the math. Here unfair you say, there also unfair, heck, everywhere is unfair, but unfair with a better living standard, need a calculator?

Given the chance and opportunity, I'll migrate, and if I can't, my next generation must.

This is a qoutation from Rambo in the movie "rambo II" that I can still remember till today ...

"We love our country and we want our country to love us, as much as we love it ..."

Just like Rambo, where the country abandoned him and treated him as "dispensable", do you think he has a choice? For a country that have never awaken from its mistakes for decades but worse, kept moving towards extremity, what hope do rambo has?

Sometimes, it's really good if the country just passes a law and ask rambo to leave ... in that case, rambo will no longer be in the dilemma of staying in his beloved home country or to leave it, since he is not given a choice anymore.

As for choice of countries, the first world countries with English as their main language will definitely be the preferred choice since they are not allowed to practice "discrimination" legally e.g. USA, Canada, Australia, Singapore ... especially USA where "sky is the limit as long as you can perform ... " That why they are the advanced countries who lead the world.

Nope, will continue become a Malaysian. Unless I find a hubby at the other country.

I'm so looking forward to migrate but still contemplating between UK, or Spain. I've stayed in those countries before and loved it. Australia is on my list also but that's mainly becoz its nearer to Malaysia. I love UK becoz I can see where my money is going and still can save for that rainy day. I don't have to have my own car and still going from one place to another in UK is a joy unlike Malaysia. Spain is mainly due to its weather, people and food.

Too manythings to and cant fit in if you want to talk about it.
Some friends of mine working part time in Australia earning AUD$15-20 dollars per hour as cashiers, pizza sectors, delivery, waiters, fast food...etc
Some friends of mine working perment full time earning AUD$1500 minimum after tax and after superannuation(EPF)
Lets work out from the $1500 you take home.
a)1500 - rental 100 per week = 1100 you can spend whatever you want
b) 1100 - utilities 100 per month = 1000
c) 1000 - living expenses 300 (food, cook yourself) = 700
the 300 food you can eat like king, with beef, lamb, pork, chicken, turkey, seafood, beers, wine etc.
so basically you will leave around 700 into bank

So, i leave for you to judge for yourself.

No. Came back in 2005 and not planning to leave again.

Many of my friends and relatives overseas advise me to,after knowing the situation in Malaysia right now.I haven't thought about it as yet,to be honest.

I'd definitely migrate somewhere else once i'm older and finish my studies..
Malaysia is a good country.. I love the diversity of cultures and 'some' people.. but I really hate the law and government; the way the country is run..

I feel darn restricted here.. they've held on to so many laws from the past that's absolutely stupid and pointless. Highlight 'pointless'.
And as a gay man, this country is definitely not a place I could live peacefully in the future.. I'm not looking to have a 'family' or anything anytime soon, but I dont feel like I need to hide my sexuality just to satisfy some close minded fools.

I'd like to migrate to a place I'd be accepted for being myself. That's what I'd like.. I know alot of people would probably be disgusted for saying what i've said, but I really dont care.. go ahead and hate. I've said what I wanted to...

Nop.
why should i. this country has a lot to offer.
i dont want to go to other country where asian been considerd & treated as a second class citizen. and as a muslim our presents in overseas will get a different look wherever i'm.. so i dont think i'll migrate out..

this is a great country to live in.. whatever race or religion u are..
