Ants In Water ?

Guys recently i have ants coming into my water jug..why is that..its not that the jug is unclean or anything, but its so frustrating whenever i pour a glass of water in my cup you can see 2-3 ants floating inside...why is that? how do i get rid of them? thanks all

Remembering what the "Bug Man" said about ants in my house, he mentioned that whenever an ant eats, he must get water! It seems to me that the ants have eaten some left over crums on the floor, or food that has been left out. Then, they try to find water. They find and sense out that there is water in the water jug, but, when trying to get water, they drop, drown, and die (the triple D!). I would suggest that you put the water jug away for now. And next time you are at the store, get some ant traps, or call your local "Bug Man" for, they can give you some good ant traps. Ant traps usually have food in them, for the ants. But, trying to find water, they go outside and get the water, or, they end up dying from no water source. Also, try to close all windows in your house, and try to keep door open for only when needed. This should help, and reduce the ants in your house! Later, once you notice they are gone, you can put away the traps, and get that old fashioned water jug out again! Thanks, and, good luck,

Is this jug in your fridge? If so, you could have a colony moving in to your fridge through a gap in the seal. Check to make sure your fridge is sealed fully all the way around and look for ant trails nearby.

Ants need water too to survive you know. Prolly they were thirsty ..when they were trying to get a drink, their friends pushed them into the water.. :-)

2 - 3 ants could be annoying.. but not really a big deal.
Clean up your house from any spill or crumbs. Put an ant bait at the backyard.

i dont know how to get rid of it.. my house sometimes also have. my be the ant feel thirsty

not all ants are smart, just becareful

my mom's saying "eat a few ants wont die one lah"...

so they go in my system with the water too...

This is because the weather is so dry that they can't find any source of water elsewhere.

Just create some water source easily accessible by them to solve the problem.

Either u give them a bowl of water daily (put the bowl in a strategic place near their colony homes) keeping them as pets, I am sure God will praise u for this or

Go to hardware shop and ask for ant trap which is also known as 'ubat semut'. It comes in small packets, content looked like bread crumbs. Pour some (away from children's play area) at the area where u see most ants appeared. U wil notice that they eat this crumbs and carries it back to their colony. Leave them be. When they get to their colony, they will start eating each other until all of them dies. Next day, u will notice that all ants are dead including the one in their homes. It sounded barbaric i know. Before u kill them, warn them and say sorry ya.

weird enough, its happened to me too.. usually I'll through whole jug right away into the sink..and have a new one ;)

There's sugar in the water, maybe. Clean the jug properly and wipe the place where you put your jug.

I'm having the same problem...sometime even swallow a few but it's ok, won't disrupt our digestive system.
I've read a magazine that the 'mint' plant can drive away the ants. Until now i still haven't find the plant but in S'pore it's quite popular among those ppl living in high rise buildings...

Someone placed em there....lol.
