Which Malaysian island is better Langkawi OR Penang? and WHY? for relaxation. Scuba and partying?

also for,

Beach
food
tropical atmosphere
asian arts and crafts
PRICE

Well with your crietria, its hard to pick one that fits all. Langkawi is basically for relaxation, beach, watersports, arts & crafts and the tropical atmosphere if you get a hotel by the beach. Its pretty much laid back compared to Penang, where, you could find good food. Penang, compared to Langkawi, would have the partying, and if you head to the beach side - tropical atmosphere. Although i doubt they offer scuba diving, they have many of the other watersports. Where price is concerned, it varies - they both are touristic destinations so its basically going to depend where you go to spend.

if you are looking for a relax vacation then i would recommend "LANGKAWI".....
in term of beach then langkawi will be much better then penang...gosh, i am from penang and i know it well.......
food, i think penang's food is really nice....but u need to know the location...
tropical atmosphere, in penang you will feel the 'tarffic jam' atmosphere and not tropical atmosphere....
asian arts and crafts, so far i seldom see any asian arts and crafts in penang...or may be i did not go to the right place (but after 22 years i think i have went to every places in penang)
PRICE....YEAH, u will get kill if u choose your vacation in penang.....
so, after all this i think i am recommending LANGKAWI....if to choose between langkawi and penang !

Penang? Langkawi? No way!

Pulau Perhentian, is where you should go!.

i prefer langkawi, coz its cheaper, nice and beautiful sandbeaches, lots of places for scuba, more relax without havoc.

Penang - food, tropical atmosphere, party

Langkawi - relaxing, beach, tropical atmosphere

Pulau Redang - scuba-diving.

langkawi la..got more pulau than penang..i've naik itu bot then go to each pulau2 around langkawi..best wooo!!!

Langkawi meets all thar you require.

there's no place to scuba in Penang,. (if i'm not mistaken).

so the only one left for you to decide is Langkawi island.
scuba & partying at the same place..
but i recommended u to stay in Chenang beach which is the busy area's..
not so much partying places except for in hotels & stuff..

anyway.. LANGKAWI island is definately the place..

Neither because the scenery is nothing special.

Hello

As a Penangites, I would recommend Penang. Why!!!

1. Exotic beaches - The fame Batu Ferringhi beach has long been a popular hag out for tourist. You can enjoy many water sport activities and there is also a tent being set-up lately to do messaging if you get tired. At night all this will be replace with a soothing music form the pubs and discoteque. Other beaches worth visiting include the secluded Monkey beach.

2. Popular tourist attractions such as the Kek Lok Si temple that showcase Malaysia largest Pagoda and the fame sacred pond; The masterpiece architecture of Khoo Kongsi; The cooling and relaxing Penang hills; The colonial building in Georgetown; Award winning Cheong Fatt Tze mansion; The nostalgic Penang Ferry; Fort Cornwallis and many more.

3. Good and cheap food. Penang is famous for its mouth watering cuisine. Visit the famous Gurney drive and you will aggree with me that Penang food is No 1.

4. Accomodations - Penang has many types of accommodation that suit every individual taste or lifestyle. If you are looking for luxurious and comfort stay or even budget stay, Penang have it all.

5. Friendly and helpful Penangites - Like me!

6. Colorful Festivals - Coming to Penang during festive season will provides you with unforgettable experience of colorful and dazzling display.

7. And much much more...

Of course, Langkawi has its share of attraction, but Penang has a lot more to offer. If you want to know more about Penang and what can the "Pearl of the Orient" offer, visit the below site.
