Why would you buy a datin instead of a datuk ship going for rm15,000 from Melaka? You dont need to have a million for it.

If you have that much money you will be conferred a Datukship at once - no need to marry a Datuk to become Datin. Being a Datin means you are just married to some Datuk, you didn't do anything to deserve a title.

No need so much money lar... i think around 15k to 30k will do...
i had a friend's uncle which he donated some amount of cash to the local town council for some repair works for the town...
he got conferred the 'title' after 3 months...

As Datin, no but as Dato, yes. if you got the title Dato, you husband won't get any title otherwise, if your husband get the title Dato', you get the title Datin..
Why do you want to buy the title? Go to USA and say, i'm a Dato, they will say "what is Dato... ?". useless... except in Malaysia
