Which is nearer Kuala Lumpur? Genting Highlands or Melaka?

I just need to choose one since i'm visiting for 7 days only.

Genting Highland is nearer to Kuala Lumpur. It's only an hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. Also available are coach buses if you prefer public transport that will ccost you around 8MYR a trip.

Malacca is about 2 and a half drive from Kuala Lumpur if you take the PLUS Highway. Express buses are also available everyday from bus stations such as Pudu and Hentian Kajang.

7 days is a hell of a holiday! You get to go both if you like. Is not that far. But do plan your holiday early such as hotel booking and other since it's the end of the year where you might find every places are crowded with tourists and school children.

If you're thinking of a fun and enjoying holiday, go to Genting. If you wanna run from the busy environment, get relaxed at Malaca then.

Just to suggest, try Pulau Perhentian or Pulau Redang in Terengganu! It'll be the best relaxing holiday ever.

Malacca i think...but not much different :) besides Genting is ALLLLL about fun ! but if you're planning for a relaxing holiday..i'll vote for Malacca

Or somewhere else to KL, Genting and Malacca?

no doubt genting is the answer.

With 7days, you have ample time to visit all the 3 places you mentioned unless you are planning to visit other places too. Genting Highlands is about an hour drive from Kuala Lumpur and Melaka is about 2 1/2 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur. I suggest you stay in Kuala Lumpur for 2 days to visit all those tourist places and do some shopping and head up Genting Highlands to have some fun and to cool yourself out, stay 2 days there and then go to Melaka for 1 day to visit mostly historical sites and some antiques shopping.

Genting Highlands, 1 hour from Kuala Lumpur by Taxi, and cost RM70-80 or you can discuss for the fare. The budget one is by Buses, you can ride at Pudu Raya Ternimal and cost very cheap. (please mention that Taxi will ride you until your Hotel,but buses only stop you at the cable car area,you may need to take cable car or taxi to the top)

It's an hours' drive from KL. However activities in Genting are limited especially for a week.
So if you're looking for something more Malacca would fit your requirement;)
Depending on mode of transport & traffic, it's 'bout 60 to 90 mins to get there.

Genting. 7 days in KL & Melaka is not enough because there're many nice places in Melaka too. Just go to Genting, not very big and you don't need a car to travel around at Genting.

both are same.. both take two hour on highway.. better malacca than genting since genting is only outdoor game and casino..
