How to apply for SPM for Malay?

I already graduated from an international school outside the country. Now applying to university in Malaysia, but they require SPM for Malay. So how to apply for SPM Malay, or is there another alternative?

SPM Bahasa Melayu

what is SPM for malay?
hmmm....
maybe u should post this to any YAB or Datuk or buletin utama TV3

SPM equivalent to A Level

i don't understand your question ...SPM for Malay? i thought SPM is for everyone in Malaysia ... not only Malay .. hehe

Hey GH SPM is equivalent to O level. A level is equivalent to STPM
go to this website, www.moe.gov.my

Better apply for Malaysian private universities like UNITEN.
private institutions are more 'fun' in term of freedom and higher in quality grade.

You need to take PMR first, only then you are qualify to take SPM.

If you want to sit for Bahasa Melayu paper for SPM, you'll be needed to qualify PMR.

If you already qualified PMR, proceed to private school such as ones in Kuala Lumpur just to sit for that certain paper.

My friend took his SPM there, and it was a cool school!
He's now studying at UniTen.
I wish I went there..

If you need more info on this, dont hesitate to email me.

Good Luck!

To enter local U, you must have credit in BM.

You can attend private school. (I heard that for SPM you must go to school to study for the 1st time, not like STPM you don't need to go to school). Go to the Jabatan Pendidikan of your state to apply for STPM. If I'm not wrong, the counter opens at March or April.

You have 2 chances of sitting for that paper, one is July, another is the common November. I heard that the Nov paper is easier to pass because more candidates having the paper on Nov, so when there're more candidates, the chart to mark the passing or credit will become lower.

Good luck!

Gigi sounds experienced in this. also, maybe Deena can help you :)

good luck!

Gigi gave an excellent answer. I'm sitting for my SPM this November as a private candidate as well. And all I needed was to have a PMR certificate and apply at the Jabatan Pendidikan (enter state name) Lol... I went to the Jabatan Pendidikan Selangor and they helped me with everything else. For your case, I dont think you need to take PMR or anything.. so dont worry. Good luck, man!

take the july paper.
