I don't think that Malaysians are better from Indonesians.
FYI:
1. Malaysian students (til now) cannot beat Indonesian's in International Physicis Olimpiad as well as International Mathematics Olympiad
2. Many Indonesians students in Germany (TUM, Karlsruhe, ETH Zurich) , Singapore (NTU, NUS), US (Caltech, MIT) pursue outstanding achievement
3. Even our Gross National Product is higher than Malaysia's
I personally think that by the time we end all corruption web in our bureaucracies, the economical development in Indonesia would have been improved so rapidly that none of our labours will take the risk to work in your country.
Please regard an Indonesian labour assertively as a human being @ fossi:
Well you haven't heard about the Indonesian Karate Referee case
http://www.antara.co.id/en/arc/2007/8/28...
and many Indonesian female labours working as housemaids in Indonesia are raped, tortured, and even killed.
I think our (and also your) government pays no attentions for those case.
But they are also humans like you and I, they have their rights We do not see them as inferior but as hardworking. ok.... i will meet you at the gate... I don't see anything wrong with them working in Malaysia. Where did you hear that? You must be an Indonesian yourself aren't you?
Hmm... human being & their skeptical minds.... won't blame you..
Its just that, most of the Indonesian that we usually see are those who works in the construction industry. Their worked makes them look harsh n people have past bad experiences, such as criminals such as robbery involving Indonesian.
skeptical or not... I did help some Indonesian guys, who at first, I tried to avoid..(coz they looked scary with long hair & a bit overtanned skin)... I was at Giant, when this 1 Indonesian guy ask me about the instruction on a syrup bottle...
First thing came to my mind, poor him.. could not even read, but need to come as far as Malaysia to earn a living... but when I tried to read the label, wahh.. even I have difficulties. The font was so small, I had to really bring it close to my face... poor him, he might got exposed to the sun so much, it affected his vision...
Not that I'm scared of Indonesian or what, just that some.... some small portion of them made their act hateful... n really, I will avoid them.
But to tell you the truth, sometimes... even local Malaysian have much2 worst attitude...
Corruptions? It happen anywhere... to stop it... you just gotta to kill the shark, not the anchovies....... You can send e-mail to them! then ask them to leave! how about that..lol !! even you said your country are the best in "whatever" you should have some research about indonesian people that come to Malaysia to work here eg- what kind of the way they come here, legal or not, the problem that they did etc... While there is a need to be 'firm' in making decisions and issuing 'instructions', some people go to the extent of abusing them by language and deeds.
This is a first hand experience for the last few days while being on duty at a construction site in Puncak Alam... I was in charge of observing some 3,000 foreign labors and seriously, when times are 'bad', it was like a concentration camp. Foreign workers who didn't understand the Malay language were called 'anjing' and 'babi'. Some were even threatened by those staffs there.
They've even got a way to 'frame' them in case if they needed a way to get rid of them, by using the police ---some of those workers there had to surrender their travel documents to the management, but they were being turned to the police as illegal immigrants or claim to be in possession of drugs or being a rapist.
Anyway... if there's one thing that I can relate to your comments, you are absolutely right. I don't want to be petty with those facts you've provided or to provide any more to make the list longer, I simply have to say that Malaysians (and Singaporeans) need to realize that as a matter of fact, their very own forefathers were from Indonesia too! And that they are indeed the SAME as each and every one are human beings. i guess it begs the question... what do you mean by inferior.
it is true that indonesians (and those from other countries) who work in malaysia as "labourers" are somewhat lower in social rank than most malaysians like it or not. why else would you think malaysians do not want to do the work you do?
no one in the country condones inhumane treatments to any workers. by no means do i endorse the sort of treatment you receive from employers. underpayment, torture and the likes. the truth is, even malaysians can be treated the same way you are. arent we also called "babi, sotong, keling (sorry my indian friends), hantu" etc etc? we do not set out to make your lives in malaysia difficult.
"Please regard an Indonesian labour assertively as a human being" - i can also request that indonesian housemaids regard their bosses' children as helpless human beings. do you need any evidence of how some toddlers are ill treated?
of course not all are like that, and majority arent. at least those that have worked with my family have proved to be very good, faithful workers.
as to your "fyi", thank you.. but what is your point?
i will be the first one to give you an applause if somewhere down the track, your country becomes the second First world country in SE asia. go for it!!!
but if you want a debate as to which country between the two has more talents, start a new question. it is only remotely connected to WHY you are considered inferior in msia, if any because they are Now, read this dumb head, for your info it's not we Malaysians who have low impression about the Indonesians or regard them as inferior to us. Hey ! we never have that in us in the beginning, understand ? It was the Indonesians themselves who carved that impression in us.
Here are a few examples to lighten your numb skull :
1.The majority of the Indonesion women who work here as maids give the impression that they were easy lay. Very easy to play Fu*king game with them. They even go for Bangla and secretly enjoy the fu*k-fu*k-fu*k with anybody who lavish them with money and easy living. Hey, this is the truth.
2. As for the menfolks from Indonesia quite many of them come here to commit crime for fast bucks...and the ones from Acheh or some other places from Indonesia come here to set up their drug business, mostly Ganja and the latest I come to get wind is that they are slowly trying to take over or make some deal in the Heroin market with the Chinese big boses and if something goes wrong there's gonna be war in the drug world, but don't worry we believe in our Malaysian Police Force which is considered among the best in the world.
3. Talking about curruptions ? Hey, are you kidding me ? Indonesia I believe is very deep about this bad business..Many politicians and government servants there were ease to move with money and get things done with not much questions asked.
4. You also forget to get your goegraphy lesson well polish. Should I go into detail about this ? No, I don't think so, cos whatever sh*t you're trying to express does not carry weight. You have to do some more revision before coming like a sh*t of a question here at YAM. ( Well, pardon me..)
5. And we have many 'pendatang haram' from Indonesia and when they are caught their story is always the same. " Klau disana...susah dong...Hanya dapat kerja di kebun-kebun..dan gajinya sikit aja...mana boleh tahan..." You think they tell all this when they meet friends here in coffee shops and the like ? Hey, stop trying to put the blame on Malaysians. Your Indonesians will say it so nicely and try to gain Malaysian sympathy also on TV.
6. And about Malaysian Students doing their studies oversea we have many and they are brilliant and we don't have any complain to say about that....hey..hey..hey...
Now, sit down and think about what I wrote here. Bottom line is we Malaysian respect most Indonesians but many Indonesians too with all the bad doings they do here make us a little weary to trust them. mmm.. Mas Graham.. how a person is treated depends on how this person treats him/herself. If the Indonesian people want to be treated with respect, they should treat themselves with respect too. Respect is not given, Mas. It's earned. This applies around the world. You want respect, earn it. Those students earn the respect, they've got self-esteem for their achievement.. That's very true.. Sadly not many people are aware of this achievement - self-esteem - respect chain.
You also mentioned that Malaysian govt. doesn't pay attention to the (Indonesian) labour rights.. etc..etc. Does your govt.? The Indonesian govt. claims the labours as Pahlawan Devisa .. whatever it is but, it's a hero something something rather. Your govt. also keeps saying that bangsa yg besar adalah bangsa yang menghormati jasa pahlawannya.. a great nation is a nation that respects the heroes... Do they understand what they are talking about.. or is it just another lip service as usual?
You personally think that "by the time we end all corruption web...blah.. blah.. " By the time you said. Come on.. Over 200 million people.. If they stand on their feet with respect and pride, they can end it NOW. The dutch colonization has been over for ages.. Here is the dark age under the national corrupt ruler.. Believe me, your country will lose more young talents in no time.. including the students you are proud of.. if you keep on waiting for that "by the time."
Peace. Agree to disgree Dear Neighbour,
We malaysian dont find Indonesian working in malaysia as inferiors. We're not singaporean (with kiasu stuff).
FYI:
1. Yes we cannot beat you on whatever olimpiad as you said.
2. We acknowledge your outstanding achievement
3. Applause your Gross National Products.
However, you need to remember that.
1. Malaysia is a place where 1-2 million of your friends working here.
2. We're among the fastest country to help when your country in turmoil or facing disaster (i was there for Merci Acheh help mission).
3. We accept & acknowledge your fellow friends as important assets for helping economic growth for contruction etc2.
well we're also human being when sometimes fellow friends from you do this:-
1- involve in statistic of increase crime such as rapes, murder & robbery
2- gangsterism & even well planned crime.
3- prostituition etc2..
we tend to give a bad look of indonesian friends as a whole..
but i dont think this will ever effect our countries relationship as a whole.. cemuih koi dengo awok. Kohot dah tangan ni ha. Nok kene pepoh? we do regard our fellow indonesian as a human being..but please advise your countryman to behave like those you mentioned in 1,2 and 3. We do welcome your people to enjoy the prosperity of our country...but come legally.....behave professionally.....
we dont say we are better..but at least we know who we are...if we gonna go to your country..we go legally... |
