NS should be a must for boys not girls ?

I basically thinks that girls should go to YLS(young ladies' school). In that particular school, young ladies are thought to sew, defend for themselves with martial arts, cook, swim,do the laundries and all the girl's stuff. While NS camp should only be a must for boys. Don't you pity those girls who have to go through all the NS missions while having period ? Tampons aren't sold everywhere in Malaysia. Just a few outlets in main cities.

I think it shouldn't be a must for anyone. Let them continue the programme only for those militant 'boleh' freaks who volunteer to attend it. One more thing: whenever there are girl camps, male presence should not be allowed. Rapes are just way to common, and many trainers like to molest, harass and disturb girls.

Uhm, what's NS? Anywho, that doesn't sound too much like a question. More like a statement.

yeah what is NS?

I think National Service should be for both boys and girls. I doubt all girls wanna take on the 'female stereotype' role.. not all female wants to sew and cook. If you wanna bring out the ladies, what about the boys who are feminine? Shouldnt they be brought out too if they fit the stereotype you mentioned above..?

My sister was going bonkers to get into National Service, shes not the type to sit at home, sew, cook, wash clothes or anything.. It becomes tough if you try to generalize everything. For example, all men must be manly and all women must stay at home and give birth like hamsters. That is just wrong..

Im not a sexist, I believe everyone should be treated equally..
But ultimately, I think both those boys and girls should be given a choice if they wanna go for this National Service.. would make things so much easier...

lol i was going to say everything Deena just did.

all in all, it should be a matter of choice.
despite all the bad news arising from these camps each yeah, i would love to have joined. it would have made me an all round individual.

the deena brudder is rite. so i agree with brudder one.
but still few years to go for me untill the NS come one. i dont want to go coz peple die and fall sick and no one treat well.
what tampon?

What does the pondans do???

You kids are lucky! I had to work in a motor shop getting paid RM 5 from 7am to 7pm when I was your age. And you guys are complaining?!

I could not agree more. This whole NS training should be looked at once again. There is no need for girls to take part in the training.

I think NS is for NOBODY except ... those people who really 'benefit' from it.

NS is a RM500 million worth of project per round initially and the expenses have been increasing every round with more and more student being 'forced' to participate.

Cost = >RM500 million per round
Benefit = ??? I doubt any ordinary citizen can really tell the benefit of it.

Initially, it was for "unity of different races" -- totally irrelevant?!
Later for "healthy body and soul" -- for that amount of taxpayer money?!

Singapore does it for all guys due to low number of military force. All guys went for NS can really act as reserved army. I don't know what is their budget but logically speaking, can never match ours.

Here, we all go there play play .... or in fact, suffer suffer only ... some even had to die there. Don't we know most parents are so worry when they see their children name appeared in the list, it is like a matter of life or death ... but, again, for what purposes? to spend nearly 1 billion of tax payer money a year for the benefit of 'who'?

mmm.. I can see ur point is well presented.

Lets forward to our favourite Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

:)

Do you know the main reason the NS being made?
it is a preparation on war or something that need everyone to be ready.. you don't want the boys only well prepared while th e girls not, rite?
talking about the tampons. that is a business opportunity. anybody that knows about this will grab it later, don't worry..
