What exactly is the Malaysian Dream it's the same as the American Dream?

Given that we like to imitate what the American do.

Even the flag is almost the same...

American dream is to become rich and successful from an ordinary man.

Malaysian dream is a dream from which one never wakes up.

I love to have American boots!

I copy the idea of American dream from Wikipedia. Basically I would said Malaysia dream is very difference from American dream. We can't archive our goal just depending on our abilities and hard working. For example those Form 6 student can't enter local university solely by depending their ability and result. A local business men can achieved a certain of achievement and wealth depending on their skill and ability. However, if he want to go for big business he might need a Bumi partner.

I would said unless our government open Malaysia market, suspend new economic plan. This Malaysia dream are very much difference from Americana's.

Most of the Malaysia dream for example Malaysia first astronaut, Malaysia automobile, Malaysia Boleh idea are unrealistic and used tax money. I would conclude Malaysia dream is for certain group of people and mostly push by the government.

Though America is the most advance country it does not mean other countries don't have dreams of their own. It's a free world where dreams are concern. Bottom line is don't be a copy-cat. Can be sophisticated but not trying to show of. Act naturally according to one's identity then create a dream for one's country. I see no big deal here about making a dream for one's country.

The trouble about making a dream could just about turn into the worst nighmare for one's country....then its a CHIHUAHUA PODIMAN DREAM. What dream is this ? Just give it a name that suits your fancy.

I think they both have a similar basis (success, etc), but because the cultures are so different, they're naturally different in a lot of ways too.

Both countries do have dreams and there is nothing wrong with weather our dreams are similar, is the way to achieving it the main problem!

I am not sure whether the dream is same in US and Malaysian.
My dream is I as a Chinese that born in Malaysia, I hope my own country will treat me the same as Malay that has most of the privilege of the country. After 50 years of independent, Chinese still being discriminate and can not be treated fairly in almost all the sectors, like education, business, buying a real estate.
I really hope I can one call myself a Malaysian...yes until the country treat Chinese fairly....

I don't know about the American dream.I do know that many Chinese students in Malaysia with tip-top results in public exams can't get into the local universities. Certain race are getting scholarship offered to them and fact is,they never make it to graduation.Talk about Malaysian dream....yes,to some only.

Malaysian dream is more about being successful when you're literally filthy rich or doing something to gain international attention.

Malaysia Boleh is the REAL Malaysian dream and it has been totally WAY out of its objectives today.

Why?

Orang Malaysia cepat lupa... or... is it because there is something more to that?

From my observation, when non-americans talk about "The American Dream", they refer to their dream ---> to be able to migrate to America. When Americans talk about it, it probably refers to ... (please refer to Wikipedia)

I have never heard of any non-Malaysian talking about Malaysian dream. Anyway since you ask, my best guess is "What Malaysians are dreaming to do ..."
