Did u go to Nine emperor gods's temple and pray during its festival?Do u know the story behind it ?

It is believed that these 9 Gods lived out at sea and perished during a storm. So, whenever the 9-day festival comes by, it will rain.
All devout devotees would be on strict vegetarian diet for the full 9 days while others would be for the last 3 days. This is said to ''cleanse'' or ''purify'' oneself of sins.

On the 9th night, devotees who had fasted will perform fire walking, piercing and other rituals. A ceremony to send the gods back to sea will then take place. Expect at least a drizzle or shower on this day because it is said that these 9 Emperor Gods are very clean and must have the roads they travel on to be 鈥榳ashed鈥?before their journey.
