What do you think of Syed Muzaffar returning home with Expedition 15?

Instead of with Yuri Malechenko and Peggy Whitson.

Personally, i feel he went there for a trip rather than doing real work. I know that he is conducting some experiments up there but it is like kinda real quick experiment.

However, it is good that he went there becoz at least there are some exposure on the space industry for the Malaysians.

It is meaningless to go space in the first place and it is just a waste of money and time. Malaysia need to concentrate to our own economic instead of doing thngs that will not bring any good to the country except a slogan "malaysia Can!".

I do not think much, if at all anything, about it.
It is a complete waste of money.
Money should be spent on the less fortunate, poverty-stricken and poor facilities in the country instead.
Anyway, I hope Dr. Sheik Muszaphar will have a safe return without the other 2 crew members.
For goodness' sake, he is NOT an astronaut as so publicly announced. He is only a SPACE TOURIST!!!!
As for the HIV and other experiments in space, can't they all be done on Earth?????
Jeeeeeeeeeez.........Malaysia Boleh!!

i agreed with winterlotus.. Just do the right thing.c'mon

Hello

I agree wth the rest that Malaysia space expedition is just a waste of public money. "INSPIRING" the young ones? I don't think so. I doubt that Syed can do much with the experiment or even finding a cure for HIV. If there ever is, the American could have done it already during Apollo mission many years ago.

Malaysia is not a rich country and sending our people to space isn't going to help in generating income for the poor.

Sometimes, we just got to be realistic. Doesn't means that when people go to space, we also want to go to space. It just doesn't make sense and it won't help much in bridging the gap wth the advance and fully developed countries.

It's a complete waste of money. Malaysia would sponsor the first Malaysian out in space, but the condition HAS to be that he/she is a Malay Muslim. That's totally racist! And what kind of lame excuse is it that he's up there doing 'research' and 'experiments'? That's just total BS if you ask me. And when he touch down to earth, he'll definitely have the 'Datuk' title. Just wait and see. Hell, maybe I should be the first Malaysian to get inside a pyramid or swim with a pond of crocodiles, then maybe I'll get a Datuk title too. But then again, maybe not, because unfortunately I'm chinese.

He will be given the title 'Datuk' and within, say 36 months, will be married into some very powerful and filthy rich politician family,if not some royal family .The wedding will be headlines for days , and some of the expenses,if not all ,will be paid for because he's Malaysia's first 'astronaut'.My prediction anyway.
Malaysia still doesn't have an astronaut.PLEASE be kind DO NOT try to mislead our younger or rather, some ignorant people by calling a plain space tourist an astronaut. This is a joke in itself,a pathetic one, at the same time.Wasting tens of billions to get a ride in Russia's spaceship, doing some next-to-nothing research, yet fooling themselves by repeating the word 'astronaut' over and over, day in and day out, boy, that's truly Boleh. That's what I would call, Boleh.

He went in true Hakuna Matata spirit!

Its good for him. Although he will be staying there for a short time. The experiences that he have will be useful in the future. For all of you out there, first of all Sheikh Muszaphar is not a space tourist. Gibson had mentioned earlier that he is Malaysian astronaut... first Malaysian astronaut. Btw the government didn't waste any money because this space program is 100% sponsors by rusia in exchanges with the sukoi jetfighter. At least he went there and will be listed amongst the astronauts. I heard that the European countries and Japan have contacted Malaysia to share informations about the research in there. So, I think its not a waste of money at all. Its a first step for Malaysia to develop more in aerospace.
