Do they have gps coverage in madagascar?

i would like to visit madagascar and go in the deep forest for camping, but in case i get lost is it possible to use my gps?

GPS is worldwide, that's why it's called Global Positioning System. You should be able to use it anywhere you are likely to be. I don't know how good your receiver is, but you shouldn't have any problems. Bring extra batteries, no Wal-Marts in the jungles of Madagascar.

Yep. If they have it in the Peruvian Highlands, then they have it in Madagascar.

GPS is most probably used in Madagascar, according to the following references.

You will note from this site (http://www.madagascar-bagatelle.com/adir... that the company does not give its address but its GPS coordinates.

From this one (http://www.eomonline.com/Common/Archives... it is said that GPS has been used to map the protected areas of Madagascar.

Don't go on your own. Guides do not cost very much and they are essential for anyone wanting to go into the Malagasy bush, especially since Madagascar is not quite so safe as it has been in the past. With a guide, you won't get lost. But it is possible to us your GPS, as these are in use in Madagascar. http://www.wildmadagascar.org/conservati...
