What kind of food do they eat in madagascar?

They eat a lot of rice there. Like three times a day. More than my Chinese friends. They even drink the water where rice was boiled. Actually, that's the most popular drink among native people there. Also zebu steaks are popular. It tastes like beef, but a little tougher. Chickens there are very lean, so there is not much meat on them. There is also pork, seafood (shrimp, langousts). In south they sell local species of crayfish (especially at the bus stops), which is very good. In some places you can try some unusual food ("Panda" restaurants in Toliara and Fianarantsoa) like fruit bats, wild birds and crocodiles. Pizza's usually not your best choice, the best place for it is "Zanzibar" restaurant in Toliara. As in any tropical place, they have lots of fruits there: mangoes, which are MUCH more tasty than in our supermarkets, papaya, leechee, pineapples etc + some endemic fruits that you can't try anywhere else.
