Planning a trip to LA this March and I have a few questions?

I wish to take about a week trip to LA from Toronto.
My sister lives in Torrence California which apparently is a 30 minute drive from LAX.

For some reason its actually cheaper for me to get a flight and a hotel than it is to just get a flight.

Anyway, I was looking at a few hotels at the airport.
My question is how can I reach Torrence from the airport?
What kind of transit is available? I dont drive so I'd have to rely on buses I suppose.

It would just be easier to catch a flight and stay with my sister but thats just so expensive.
Does anyone know of cheap airlines from Toronto to LA or even Buffalo to LA?

Thanks.

Torrance is less than a 30 minute drive from LAX. It's probably 15 minutes.

Often, the package deals (flight and hotel) are cheaper!

Depending on the time of day, you could either take a taxi or a shuttle service...or if your sister could pick you up at the arrival area (keep in touch via cell phone once you arrive and have your luggage and she can avoid parking).

If the package deal is cheaper, then go for it. You can always stay with your sister if it looks like you'd feel comfortable, or if not...then the hotel.

Torrance is next to Redondo Beach, where there's a nice harbor area and pier to walk around and enjoy.

Take a cab is you best bet. Or have your sister pick you up

Torrence is only like 10 miles from the airport. I would just take Supershuttle or Primetime Shuttle. Or have your sister pick you up.

you can use transit to Torrance from lax
from lax, you board a LOT C bus and take this bus to the City Bus center then you take Torrance line #8 which will
take direct into Torrance (this bus runs every 1/2 hour weekdays
and hourly on Weekends_
it also services the Galleria by South Bay, as well
then it travels along Hawthorne Blvd and also services
Del Amo mall) all the way to PCH/Hawthorne
Note this bus does not service the airport on Weekends
