From North Hollywood to Redondo Beach?

How long will take the metro trip from North Hollywood to Redondo Beach? Is it safe to use metro in LA?

well it will take about an hour and 1/2 to 2 hours and you have two options
it also depends where in Redondo Beach you want to go
(for this I will assume you want King Harbor (Torrance/Catalina)
first option is take the Red Line and take this bus to Union station ($1.25) then when you get to Union station, then you walk to the transit plaza (go to Dock 1) and board Line 439
(pay $2.10 (thats $1.80+.30 for a inter-agency transfer)
take the 439 to either Lax city bus center or the Aviation Green Line terminal (the last stop) here you transfer to Bay Cites
Line 109 which will take you to Redondo Beach
thats one option
another is to use rail all the way to Aviation Station then the bay cities transit
but this way you have to pay $1.25 for each train you ride
or get day pass for $5.00 +.30 cents for the transfer)
if you desire that option
first ride Red line to 7th/metro then change to the Blue line and take that to Wilmingotn/Imperial stop
then transfer again to the Green Line to Aviation
then the Bay cities bus)
(note all Green Line trains headsigns (going west bound )say Redono beach
but techinally they dont "really go to the beach!)
(it really called ":North Redono and its nowhere near beach)
(aslo Carlse is wrong metro does go to Redono beach
(on Line 232) it even service the Redono beach library!)

Sorry to say, the Metro doesn't go to Redondo Beach...

The Metro system is very safe, but be prudent with your purse or wallet as you should anywhere.

As for your original question, if you were driving, I would allow an hour, just to be safe.

Carlisle is usually pretty knowledgable but I don't think he is an MTA person...more a car person I suspect....
I guess it depends if you are starting from the N. Hollywood end point station in which case you would take the red line to the 7th St./Metro Center station and switch the blue line then to the green line which ends in Redondo Beach..(It's sometimes referred to as the airport line.....) I would guess with the waiting for trains, it would take a couple hours, maybe....Mobilemark probably knows better than I...

yes you can get to Redondo Beach. take the MetroRail system. Red line to the Blue line to the Green line. The Green line ends in Redondo Beach,
