Taxis are regulated, and have to charge standardized rates by law. So, the cheapest one would be the fastest one.

$42.00 鈥撯€?Flat rate per trip (group) in either direction for trips between LAX and Downtown Area bounded by Alameda St., Santa Monica Fwy., Harbor Fwy., and Ceasar Chavez Ave., Plus Union Station, and Chinatown). Distance is about 20 miles.

They are all the same, as they are regulated by law. Just call one from the Yellow Pages. Do not use an unlecensed cab company. And, in LA, you have to call unless you are at a hotel or the airport or maybe a theater with a taxi stand. Youcannot just flag a cab like in so many other cities, although there is a movement to allow that.

I have found LA cab company's to try and rip you off by taking the longest route to your destination if you don't know where you're going. learn your route. Let the cabbie know you are aware of how far your destination is. better still rent a car.

4. $42.00 Flat fare for trips between LAX and downtown.

Area bounded by Alameda St., Santa Monica Fwy., Harbor Fwy., Cesar E. Chavez, Union Station and Chinatown.

5. $2.50 Surcharge for all trips originating at LAX.

6. $15.00 Minimum fare for trips originating at LAX (In addition to the $2.50 surcharge)
