How does the college system in the U.K. work?

I'd like to do an undergraduate law program in the U.K. as an international student. How many years does this take? If I chose to do a postgraduate law program, how long would that take? Thank you.

I would mainly be attending as a route to eventual citizenship so I could practice law in the UK. :D

Hi, I don't know what that other person was talking about. An undergraduate law degree would take 3 years to complete at around 拢3,100 a year for Home or EU students and about 拢10,000 a year for non-EU students. Postgraduate courses are usually one or two years long. Many universities offer law, the best being Oxford and Cambridge. Find the 'Russell Group' which tends to have to best universities in the UK and almost all of them will offer law courses. As for working in the UK...this could be much harder. Recently, we've had a huge amount of law graduates who are finding working here very hard. If possible, try to combine another country's law as well as UK law in your degree. Good luck!

Sorry, this is a tangent to your question, but if you do decide to study law abroad make sure you are looking to practice abroad. You need to know US law - practice and procedure, something that you won't study much of, if at all, at schools outside the US. US schools will help prepare you for you bar exam too, state specific law is key here.
