What salary should I ask for (Art Director/Creative Planner) in London???

Hi all, I am moving to London from Greece. I have a couple of interviews with various branding/creative agencies but I am unsure of what sort of salary I should ask for as they do not have the salary on the job posting. I am degree educated with five years experience in the industry as a Creative. The role I am applying for is either a Creative Planner or Art Director. These roles do not pay that well in Greece (I was earning 2,300 Euro per month in my previous job) and I do not want to say a figure which is too low or too high?! Any suggestions??

In my experience, they don't pay that well in London either! My friend is working in similar positions and is well qualified, although only had about three years experience, and she earns around 拢30,000. Given that you've got two years' more experience, perhaps 拢33,000-35,000 would be appropriate.

First of all, I would google "salary surveys" to see if you can find the going rate.

Also, I would be upfront with the employer: say that you're not sure what the going rate is in London. Let them make an offer. When they do, ask for 拢5k more, and then negotiate to somewhere in the middle. Don't worry, most UK employers will not try to rip you off!
