How much is a day travel ticket for london tube sattions?

I'm planning a trip. And I have a Budget, I'm planning it for may.

OK - I work in a tube ticket office, so this is the definitive advice.

DO NOT buy an oyster card. If you are only in town for one or two days and are planning to travel a lot, the oyster card is too complicated - there are too many variables and things that can go wrong, and make your trip even more expensive.
The best thing you can do is just buy one day travelcards. The peak is 0430 - 0930 mon-fri, and the rest of the time is off-peak (there is no peak in the afternoon as far as tickets are concerned).
One day travelcards are valid on the tube, DLR and national rail within the zones you buy them for, and for the buses in any zone, and the expire at 0430 on the morning after you buy them.

The prices for one day tickets for central london are:

zones 1-2 - 拢6.80 peak / 拢5.30 off peak
zones 1-3 - 拢8.00 peak
zones 1-4 - 拢9.40 peak /拢5.90 off peak
zones 1-5 - 拢11.80 peak
zones 1-6 - 拢13.20 peak / 拢7.00 off peak

If you are in London for three days and plan to travel before 0930 on at least one day, then you can buy a 3 day travelcard for 拢17.40, but otherwise, don't bother with it.
(single fares are 拢4 anywhere, so for the visitor to london, a one day card is always a better option)

ps. David S, I don't know where you got those fares from, but a 1-4 travelcard has never been 拢5.60.

Ok.

The cost will vary depending on whether or not you are planning on travelling during peak hours or not. You will also have to pay a different fare if you decide to take a bus instead of the underground. Keep in mind that in London you will not find an underground station everying 400 meters as you will in most newer subway/metro systems. Here are the current rates from Transport for London (www.tfl.gov.uk):

I suggest you look into purchasing an "Oyster Card" while you are there. This will allow you to travel at a discount rate, but will require either 10 or 15 pounds for your initial purchase. If you are planning on staying longer than 3 days, I would get the Oyster Card.

Here is more information about the times and restriction on daily travelcards:

Enjoy your trip!

It's best you buy an oyster.

A One Day Travel card valid on the Underground, Buses and suburban rail network available from 09-30am weekdays, anytime weekends is 拢5.60; this is for zones 1-4 central London and inner suburbs. An all zone one day travelcard which take you out as far as places such as Hampton Court is 拢7. Oyster pre pay as recommended here is not valid on most of the suburban rail system; you would have to download a one day travelcard on to the Oyster at an Underground station. Sorry this is very complicated.
