Calling all scouser`s?

Does anyone remember Silver Blades the Ice-Rink prescot road?

I skated there as an 'Eskimo' (skaters club) until it closed in June 1986. My mum skated when it was Silver Blades in the 1960's. I have a video taken 4 days before closure of a competition, It seems weird to watch that back and know that it is now a car park. The rink closure had something to do with Liverpool City Council not being able to afford running costs, we stood outside for weeks with placards! SOS-Save Our Skating.

When I go back home to Liverpool, I could poss transfer this to DVD and upload a short vid. I loved all the video walls in there and the flashing lights, during the public skate session they would have a disco- think A-HA 'The sun always shines on TV' and Five Star.

No, but I just had wonderful flashbacks to my tour of duty in England. I was a Forrest supporter, back when Clough was there. Peter Shilton was goal keeper. Ta Mate.
