Liverpool docks, and the construction work.?

I went to Liverpool today as I Love to go and Shop, and see the Mersey. I was quite dissapointed that I could not see the Mersey as you couldnot get through with construction work. any one know how long this is going to take, so I can re-scedule my visit. And be able to SEE the River Mersey.Thanks
I travelled from Sheffield, Quite some way for a day trip.

DAVE, We were only there for a day trip, how can we go across to Birkenhead given the time we had there.?

my boyfriend is working on the site infront of the mersey.
and he thinks it wont be ready till 2009 but that is everything as a lot of work is going on for capital of culture.
but there planting trees for the new park which is right in the middle of all that building work so he said the building work near the mersey should be finished some time next year.
its going to be worth the wait as it will be a better place for you to come and shop. it going to be ONE OF THE BEST PLACES TO COME AND SHOP and i live here how fab.
hope when you come back it better for you. it does look horrible at the moment but more shopping for you when you come back.

why not go to birkenhead next time, you will have a chavtastic time ... its a lot like sheffield

Are you sure? My mate went today and got down to the Albert Dock, no problem. They are working on it but you can walk down there. They need access to and from the ferry, otherwise there would be a lot of angry commuters!

If you want to go somewhere different, hop on the Metro and go to Crosby & Blundellsands - you'll see the Mersey and some ace sculptures!

You never tried did you?..... there are ferries across the mersey to Birkenhead.... from that side you can see the Liverpool skyline from a different perspective... and it's changing all the time.
