Single female 25, possibly moving to Leeds and need to know where to look to rent - places to avoid etc...?

It's pretty trendy now to rent/flatshare one of the many apartment blocks springing up in the city centre. Alternatively Hyde Park's nice and convenient for the centre, has a good young vibe (lots of students), and is next to Woodhouse park, a great place to chill in summer. Headingley and Chapel Allerton are two other lively areas, but a bit far out imho.

Much of your decision will depend on your budget.

LS6 (Headingley and Burley) are very popular with students and younger professionals and have a large amount of housing available for rent. (Burglaries are quit high here though).

The key areas to avoid though would be Burmantofts, Harehills, East End Park and Chapel Town.

Places to avoid: ( especially for a 25 year old woman )

Seacroft
Gipton
Harehills
Halton Moor
That's mainly it other areas are student galore - especially near the uni. Move to Leeds! You'll love it, if you can afford to look at houses in Colton it is a really nice area just off the motorway.
