Places to live in the UK?

i live in leeds, but i hate it!
next year i will be moving to a different town or city, but i have no idea where.

I dont wanna live anywhere too expensive, but nowhere run down and scruffy!

I would be renting to start with, and somewhere with lots of jobs?

But rather not a massive city?

I dont drive?

Come to Sunny Wigan, where the wine flows like water......a.k.a. home of the beautiful!

manchester. u can be my neighbour!

Sheffield is an up and coming city and not to expensive, lots going on....

come to sheffield...Its great !

Try the Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen, beautiful city, with lot's of jobs, and plenty of Public transport, great night life, and beautiful people.

Dont come to Heathrow area - its going downhill FAST !! We're having to house the asylum seekers that come into Heathrow Airport - there are hostels springing up everywhere - even old office bocks are being converted. There is a huge Somalian population now who hang out in gangs. Crime is increasing massively including muggings & stabbings (and they wonder why !!) Housing is expensive because of the airport being near and the area is becoming run down. Good luck in finding somewhere nice xxx

I would say somewhere like Leicester, transport is good and most places to live, like Oadby, Wigston or Hamilton are not run down at all...

I was born in leeds and moved to Doncaster 7 years ago - love it here - would never go back to leeds.

Watch location, location, location tomorrow night on channel 4 at 9pm, they are doing a run down of the best and worst places to live in Britain.

Dont come to London thank you very much, it is full,,, jokes its a great place, bit congested though,,,

harrogate

close to leeds in case you still have friends / family

not massive a bit quiet

good public transport to most places, just bloody expensive

jobs are about

Cardiff is the third most poperler place to go in the U.K with 11-12million people visiting city last year and fastest growing capital city in Europe with 50,000 more people scence 1991 and about 20,000 scence 2001
In a Europian wide poll it has been voted a better place to live than Barcerlona, Hamburg and over major cities
An average detatched house is below 拢300,000 in the suburbs buy apartments round the bay and centre are much more expensive. It has more green space per a head than any over UK city and you can also buy a semi detacted house in some suburbs for under 拢210,000. It is rapidly gaining a cool reputation and is quickly becoming a major Europian city. My parents and i have lived here all our lives and we love it!!!!Buses operate everywere round the city and to London and Bristol and most over cities and the surrounding Cities and South Wales region every 10 to 20 minuites. Renting isent too bad either depends what area of City

Cornwall. I live there, it's lovely, it's safe, it's virtually crime free, we don't have too many assylum seekers, (yet ) It's a little bit expensive, but if you want a better quality of life, sometimes you have to pay the price.

Go to Bristol its the best city in the UK

Hull. Don't listen to what people say it is a brilliant time providing you don't live in a horrible crime ridden area. Most places are great and the city centre is booming, lots of cheap affordable apartments being built along with massive investments being made Hull is really on the up. St stephens a state of the art shopping center has just being built in the city centre which will shortly be followed by quay west an extention to the already massive princess quay shopping center. Lots of restraunts and cafes are being put in place and you'll love hull.

Check out this site if you still aren't convinced.

:O You hate Leeds!

At the weekend I went to Derby - for the new shopping centre, don't know if you've seen/heard of it?
Anyway, as I was driving through I noticed the area looked very nice. It didn't looked run down as some parts of Leeds do. The people are friendly, but not as friendly as people in Leeds. It depends what job you want I suppose but there will be a lot of requests for sales assistants in the new city centre.
There is also a train station and apparently good bus links around Derby and the surrounding cities ( Burton and Staffordshire I think )
Another area to think of are the blatant: Manchester, Sheffield, York, a seaside town, yarmouth etc.

Newcastle - great city
Good metro transport system
Great nightlife and shopping
