Which is the nicer area in leeds to live in? seacroft or headingley?

im thinking of moving down there and was just woundering if both them areas are ok and not rough and which is the best out of the two as i have no idea of leeds at all

Did you know..The Who Live in Leeds.
I've got the album that proves it...lol.

Nice & Leeds are two words not usually associated with each other, I've been through it many times, I'd go for Seacroft myself

How much money have you got to burn? Headingly is full of the students that go to Leeds university and a few at Leeds Met, and some other wealthy people. The nightlife is all bars, as is expected in a student area. There's also Hyde park, gyms and town centre nearby.

Seacroft is almost entirely residential, with the exception of an awesome Tesco store, but with no local nightlife to speak of. Town is about a 20-30 minute bus ride depending on traffic. And also, the man who mentioned 'pakis'? he's not the only one who thinks that way in Seacroft.

I almost forgot, Seacroft is rougher by a very large margin.

Have you considered Hyde Park? Of course, I don't know what you want but it's basically on the same main road as Headingly headed into town, only closer to the centre, which means less noise from drunk students when you don't want it ;D

Seacroft is virtually a no-go area.
A cat with a tail is a wimp.
Headingley may have more than it's share of inebriated students, but they do sober up occasionally, and overall it's a much safer and more pleasant environment.

bob flem you dont have a clue there are loads of nice places in leeds, dont judge the city just by a couple of areas!!!!!

right i have lived in leeds all my life and i can honestly tell you that headingley is known as student town, its full of them ,but its a good night out there too having said that,

as for seacroft it is truly awful its very rough full of dossers and has a high crime rate its a no go area im afraid.
there are lots of nice places you can go to
such as horsforth,cookridge,whitkirk,colton,adel... are loads just depends on what you are wanting and how much money you want to pay, i live in whitkirk and its a great area just 4 mile out of city centre we are next door to temple newsam its great
good luck

Headingley is much nicer than Seacroft, by a long, long way. Headingley is like the guys up there say - nearish to the city centre, pretty studenty, but loads of great bars, restaurants and cafes, and an all-night bus service to make up for it. Seacroft is just tower-block rough.

If you want some other places that are nice, and not far from the city centre, but maybe a bit less studenty, try Roundhay, Oakwood, Horsforth, Cookridge, Meanwood, Armley (not all parts so visit first), Wortley (ditto!), Pudsey or Rodley for starters! Good luck! Hx

Headingley don't go to Seacroft it's rough as f*ck
Start househunting and mail me I'll be able to advise you
I've lived all over Leeds and know where's good and where's not
The thing with Leeds is, some of the bad areas have good parts.

move to castleford its brilliant...... :)
