We are moving to harrogate with two children (4 and 7) where is the best/nicest place to live?

we will rent at first and then buy in about 6 months with a budget of 200,000 to 225,000

YAY! Finally, a question about Harrogate

That is where I was born and lived (now I live in US because my dad got a better job, but I don't really like it here.. all my family is in England)

We lived on Wharfedale Avenue.. it was nice there and the side streets are rather quiet.. it is a short walk to the shops.. there is a Co-op nearby. There are usually a few houses on the market near there.

Check it out! And also, there is a big field and a park/playground if you cross the main road... there is also a walkpath past the water tower, and then you can keep walking to a big field, or go through the forest.. if you keep walking through the field, there is a long path that ends up by Harlow Car Gardens! It's a nice area, and there is a lot to do outdoors!

Good luck!

P.S. also, its quite near to the town centre which is LOADED with shops!

just another recent addition... I went to Ashville College, then to Highfield.. both good schools!

Wave bye bye as you pass through, because at that price you will be lucky to buy anything other than a very small terraced house in Harrogate town.....Look on the outskirts in places like Otley or Knarsborough....Harrogate itself is very expensive, look on rightmove and check it out.

The Harlow Hill area is very nice with moderately priced houses ( by H'gate standard). Wonderful parks, a great place. My kids went to Beckwithshaw Village Primary School ( about a mile from Harlow Hill) it was a dream of a school - small classes, high standards & caring teachers.
